Parler de sante mentale en milieu de travail, c'est entendre maladie, troubles de la productivité, absentéisme... Tout se passe comme si ce n'était pas le travail qui fatigue mais la vie sociale, la vie hors travail. À l'ouvrage, iI faut être motivé(e), compétitif(ve), adaptable à tous les changements si on veut faire face à la crise. Celles et ceux qui ne tiennent pas le coup, il vaut mieux les refouler hors de l'usine pour qu'elles (ils) ne dérangent pas, les soigner ailleurs. Si la maladie mentale pose de sérieux problèmes quand elle pertube la production, santé mentale n'est pas une préoccupation réelle en milieu de travail, elle n'entre pas concrètement dans la définition de la santé-sécurité.
SUMMARY
To talk of mental health in the work milieu is to talk about: illness, productivity problems, absenteism... It appears as though it is not the work itself that is the cause of fatigue, but the social life, the extra-curricular activities. At work, to face a crisis, one has to be motivated, competitive, adaptable to all changes. Those who cannot take the pace have to be released to seek help outside so as not to upset the work scene. Even though mental illness is the source of serious problems when it affects production, it is not a real preoccupation in the work setting and it does not belong firmly in the definition of health security.
