Biographical note
Piet Defraeye is a theatre comparativist, and teaches Performance Studies and Contemporary Theatre at the University of Alberta. His publications center around European and Québecois performance practice, and he is currently working on a special issue on Milo Rau for Theater (Yale). He also directs (and translates) for the stage, with productions of Handke, Schnitzler, Jelinek, Federman, De Buysser, Streeruwitz, etc. He was a resident guest professor/director at Universiteit Antwerpen, Ludwig Maximilians Universität (München), Innsbruck Universität and University of Louvain.
