Abstract
In this article we describe the current status of the Swiss Avalanche Bulletins machine translation project. After a short presentation of the project, we highlight the translation problems which we have encountered during project development and the way to solve them with ELU, a Unification-based Linguistic Development Environment. We will then show that a close collaboration while writing the grammars for the different languages generally allows us to obtain the same semantic representation, which models the domain of avalanches in Switzerland to obtain good quality translation that does not induce modifications in the bulletins' style.
