Résumé
Les mutations actuelles de la territorialité, liées à la crise de la modernité, peuvent être approchées par l'intermédiaire de la notion de lieu. Tout en tenant compte de l'affirmation contemporaine du sujet, cette notion permet de caractériser géographiquement celle d'espace public et de montrer comment celle-ci peut s'articuler à l'identité collective. Une stratégie de lieu en découle et peut être utilisée en aménagement.

Abstract
Present-day changes of territoriality, which are related to the crisis of modernity, can be approached through the notion of place. While acknowledging the contemporary assertion of the subject, the notion of place makes it possible for geography to characterise the idea of public space and to show how the latter can be related to collective identity. A strategy of place follows from this approach, and it can be used in urban and regional planning.
