Revue des sciences de l’éducation
Managing editor(s): David Lefrançois / Editor(s): Marc-André Éthier
About
The Revue des sciences de l'éducation exists since 1974. It was founded by the Francophone Association of Deans, Directors of Departments and Faculties of Education. Its aim is to support and stimulate the dissemination of research in the different disciplines of education, in particular in didactics, pedagogy, school administration, and measurement and evaluation. It is also important to note that over the years different paradigms present in the sciences of education have influenced the plurality of published articles. The methodological rigour of published research is an important criterion in the peer review process. However, no methodology is favoured over another. Thus, both the research conducted with qualitative data and research conducted with quantitative data are published in the Revue des sciences de l'éducation. Published in French and digital format, three issues are published each year. Although produced in Canada, authors from different countries regularly publish articles. Consequently, the Revue des sciences de l'éducation is an internationally recognized journal. Currently, it is indexed in the Canadian Association of Scholarly Journals, Érudit, INIST, Persée and Repère.

Editorial policy and ethics
Peer review process
All papers must present research in the field of educational sciences. Once the article corresponds to the standards in terms of content and presentation, a double-blind review process by experts in the field is performed.
Copyright Policy
Each author assigns her/his copyright to the journal, but may archive the manuscript on an institutional repository.
Instructions for Authors
All articles submitted must be uploaded to the "Open Journal Systems" platform offered by the Érudit consortium at https://rse.ojs.umontreal.ca.
All instructions for authors are available at https://revuescienceseducation.ca/soumission/.
Digital Preservation Policy
The perennial archiving of the Revue des sciences de l'éducation is assured by Portico.
Anti-plagiarism Policy
The Review refuses plagiarism. Articles whose authors do not systematically cite their references correctly are rejected; authors who occasionally quote them incorrectly must correct this aspect of their manuscripts before they can be accepted for publication. Authors are called upon to manipulate self-citation with caution and parsimony, as the manuscripts received must be distinct and original.
Information for contributors
Submitting an article
Authors can submit articles to the Revue des sciences de l’éducation with empirical or theoretical research content of up to 8,080 words. The journal also directly invites authors to write book reviews. Only articles with empirical or theoretical research content undergo an arbitration process. Any manuscript is exclusively submitted to the journal and must not have been previously published.
Before submitting their article to the journal, authors ensure they adhere to the formatting guidelines as well as the eligibility criteria for their text.
Upon submitting their manuscript to the journal, authors must complete and sign a commitment form attesting that the manuscript has not been published before and is not concurrently under consideration elsewhere for publication.
Every article proposal undergoes evaluation by at least two specialists in the field who are not affiliated with the author's institution. The selected experts decide whether the article is publishable based on specific criterias. An evaluation grid is provided to guide their assessment. The results of the arbitration are communicated to the author, and if necessary, revisions are requested. The editor-in-chief accepts or rejects the article proposal; corrections may also be requested.
In the case of thematic issues, guest editors provide indications regarding the chosen problematic to authors invited to submit articles.
The journal reserves the right to make necessary corrections to accepted articles in order to enhance style, readability, structure, or conciseness. The opinions expressed in the journal are solely those of the authors.
Copyright
Once articles submitted to the journal are accepted for publication, authors must complete a rights transfer form, which the journal's secretariat sends via email. This form must be signed and returned via email to the journal, with the original sent by mail.
The reproduction of an article excerpt is authorized as long as the complete reference to its publication in the journal is provided. Any reproduction of an entire article is subject to the regulations of Copibec.
