Management international (Mi) is an independent peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality articles in French, English and Spanish pertaining to the field of international management. Mi aims to contribute to the process of producing and disseminating knowledge to improve understanding of various dimensions of management on an international scale. To this end, Mi publishes manuscripts dedicated to empirical works, theoretical analyses, and critical analyses produced by researchers interested in international management issues.

Since its founding, Mi has prioritized three editorial choices: a) encouraging high-level scientific debate in the field of international management between universities around the world by allowing researchers from different countries speak in the language of their choice. This makes Mi one of the very rare academic journals allowing authors to write articles in French, English or Spanish; b) helping young researchers take an interest in the general field of management internationally, gain exposure, and join the field’s community of researchers; c) encourage debate between researchers with different research traditions and perspectives.

Management  international (Mi) is a renowned journal in the field of international management. For more than 25 years, Mi has been publishing high-quality articles addressing today’s major management issues.

The journal Mi is open to different research perspectives and approaches from around the world. It encourages high-quality research rooted in various research traditions, methodological approaches and management fields. It was designed to build, grow and strengthen a community of thinkers and pluralistic research.

Whether you are an Mi reader, author, peer reviewer, or member of the scientific community or editorial committee, the role of the editorial team is to provide guidance to advance knowledge that is relevant and rooted in today’s major issues, and to draw attention to your work.

Mi ‘s editorial team ensures due respect for authors, evaluators, and reviewers, as well as processes of evaluation, production and dissemination that are confidential, rigorous, and show integrity. This aligns with the highest international standards for scientific publications in the field.

Articles published in Mi must put forth ideas that contribute to existing knowledge in the field of international management. Mi is open to and favours a plurality of perspectives and approaches, which must be solidly rooted in academic literature to make a real contribution. Empirical research must also be founded on rigorous methodology.

Mi publishes different types of contributions:

  • Texts presenting a specific problem in international management, with a theoretical framework, an empirical foundation, and research results
  • Research notes primarily aimed at presenting theoretical perspectives, conceptual frameworks, and research methods or results
  • Reading summaries devoted to research summaries published in recent books
  • Reading notes for critical discussion on recent works and selections from recent writings
  • On occasion, Mi publishes a piece by editorial staff or confirmed researchers in the Opinions section.

Editorial policy and ethics

Management international (Mi) is an academic journal. It publishes quality articles that have undergone a strict peer review process in accordance with principles, rules, and practices designed to protect the double-blind review principle. All manuscripts submitted to the journal Mi are peer reviewed in accordance with the principles, rules and practices of double-blind review.

Each manuscript submitted for eventual publication in Mi is evaluated by a peer-review committee comprising three teacher-researchers. Committee members are selected among reputable researchers who have published the most in the field in question. As needed, a fourth evaluator may be called upon to give the deciding opinion when diverging opinions are identified by the editors of Mi.

The peer-review process at Mi the focal point of its mission. Through this process, Mi supports and forms young researchers as well as its research community. Reviewers receive a peer-review guide compelling them to produce clear, respectful and instructive reviews. They receive two review grids, one for the author and the other for the editors.

Editors carefully study the peer-review reports and take into account all comments before making a clear and duly justified editorial decision.

A summary report and an editorial decision (rejection, acceptance with no revisions, acceptance with minor or major revisions) are drafted and issued based on the peer-review reports.

In the interest of transparency, while adhering to the principles, rules and practices of a double-blind review, Mi editors provide the author and reviewers with a copy of the decision and the (detailed) review reports that support it.

Mi’s authors are given regular updates on where their manuscript is in the peer-review process. They are also given an explanation if there are any delays.
