Historical Papers / Communications historiques is a learned journal founded in 1922 under the name of Report of the Annual Meeting / Rapports annuels de la Société historique du Canada. The name changed in 1965 (vol. 44, no. 1). Finally, the journal adopted its actual name, Journal of the Canadian Historical Association / Revue de la Société historique du Canada, in 1989 (vol. 24, no. 1).

This journal under its two former names is available in open access on the Érudit platform.
